Aconcagua: Climb the highest mountain in the Americas and one of the most demanding high-altitude objectives in the world.

What to Expect

At 22,838 ft / 6,961 m, Aconcagua is the highest peak outside of Asia and a defining objective of the Seven Summits. While the standard route is non-technical in stable conditions, the mountain presents a serious challenge through altitude, exposure, and sustained effort over multiple weeks.

❋ Flexible Expedition Options

Choose between a logistics-only climb or a fully guided expedition, depending on your experience and how independently you want to operate on the mountain. Both options are built on the same high-quality infrastructure, with the ability to scale support as needed.

❋ Premium Base Camp Infrastructure

At Confluencia and Plaza de Mulas, you’ll have access to full board for the duration of your permit, WiFi, showers, drinking water, and dedicated camp space. Unlike fixed meal programs, this setup allows you to stay longer for acclimatization or weather without additional food costs.

❋ Mule-Supported Load Carry to Base Camp

Mule service is included from Penitentes to Confluencia and Plaza de Mulas, allowing you to arrive at base camp efficiently and conserve energy for the higher portions of the climb.

❋ Structured Acclimatization Guidance

For logistics-only climbers, we provide a recommended acclimatization itinerary, training guidance, and gear support so you can execute your climb with a clear and effective plan.

❋ Built for Independent or Supported Climbs

Above base camp, you can choose how much support you want. Options like porters, summit day guides, and upgraded accommodations allow you to tailor the expedition to your experience level and goals.

❋ Full-Service Ground Logistics

From arrival in Mendoza through transport, base camp coordination, and return, all logistics are handled. This ensures a smooth experience before and after the mountain, while keeping the focus on performance during the climb.

Who This is For

This expedition is designed for climbers ready to take on a high-altitude, multi-week objective where consistency matters more than intensity.

This is a strong fit if you:

  • Have experience with multi-day hiking, backpacking, or prior mountaineering

  • Can sustain effort for multiple consecutive days without full recovery

  • Are comfortable carrying a pack at altitude

  • Understand that progress is slow, deliberate, and built over time

  • Can stay mentally steady through discomfort, wind, cold, and long stretches of routine

This is not a good fit if you:

  • Are looking for a fast or physically “hard but short” challenge

  • Have no experience with multi-day mountain travel

  • Struggle with patience, pacing, or delayed gratification

  • Expect the climb to feel like a single push effort

Aconcagua rewards climbers who can show up every day, manage energy well, and stay consistent over time.

Prepare First

Fitness & Preparation

Aconcagua is not about peak strength—it’s about durability over time.

You should be able to:

  • Move for 6–10+ hours on summit day at altitude

  • Carry a 30–50 lb pack during load carries

  • Gain 3,000–4,500 ft of elevation in a day

  • Train and recover effectively across multiple consecutive days

  • Maintain steady pacing without spikes in effort

Your training should prioritize:

  • Aerobic base (long, steady efforts)

  • Loaded uphill movement (pack carries, hiking, skinning)

  • Leg strength and muscular endurance

  • Recovery capacity between efforts

  • Mental consistency across long training blocks

This is not about pushing harder—it’s about becoming more efficient, more durable, and more controlled over time.

We provide structured guidance on training, pacing, and preparation so you arrive with a clear plan and realistic expectations.
